Electric Token Partners With @NFT to Release Jamaican Bobsled NFT

A minority-owned tech company is partnering with @NFT to release a unique NFT for a Jamaican bobsled team.

Electric Token is a minority-owned company that focuses on community and artist interaction, and they are working with @NFT, co-founded by Jason Falovitch and Mark Cuban, to drop and promote a Jamaican Bobsleigh NFT to raise money and the team qualify to enter the 2022 Winter Olympic Games.

“The early ideation around fundraising for the Jamaican Bobsleigh team was intriguing to say the least, says Chris Hoyle, Senior Business Development for @NFT, a division of Leverage Game Media. We are excited to partner with Electric Token on amplifying the launch by displaying digital art and collectibles in one place as well as share their collection on social media platforms.”

“The intersection between the metaverse and NFTs is expanding, transforming the way we interact online. This is a special moment for supporters to create shared equity in the digital space. The Electric Token team is proud to be a leader in the next fundraising frontier and to help this iconic team compete in the Olympics in a groundbreaking way through technology, art, and entertainment,” says Co-Founder Electric Token, Jacob York.

Other partners of the NFT include Chris Stokes, former Jamaican Bobsledder. Stokes also wrote the Cool Runnings, which was eventually adapted into the 1993 Disney film.

The NFT drop will also feature digital artwork by Gabe Weis & Stonez The Organic, and it will highlight the brand and image of the Jamaican Bobsled team. “I’ve been creating for as long as I can remember. I find joy in turning thoughts into reality, connecting people, and making things happen. I’ve always appreciated the art of process and admired those who consistently work on their craft. Everything else in life is a bonus,” says Stonez.

Dave Curry, a multidisciplinary artist known as Black Dave, is working Jamaican Bobsleigh, says they will be holding an auction for fans to bid on artworks from Weis.

“We’re doing 1988 collectible bobsleds to commemorate the 1988 Olympics and we’re also auctioning off 1/1 artworks from NFT artists Gabe Weis, an NFT and mixed-media artist living in the Bay Area and Stonez the Organic, who seeks to combine his service-centered soul mission with his passion for art, transmuting the current climate of our dimensional reality to that of a conscious, and healing vibration,” said Curry.
