A Kentucky elementary school teacher has been hit with charges after students witnessed her snorting drugs in her classroom.
According to the New York Post, Cherish Rednour was arrested after two Menifee Elementary School students reported the incident to authorities. In the incident, the students said they saw the teacher crush a pill with a credit card, form a line with the powder, and snort it on her classroom desk.

The students say the teacher then slumped over her desk, as it “appeared that it was hard for her to stay awake.” Officials were immediately called to the scene to perform a sobriety test on the teacher, as they found her pupils were in fact dilated.

Upon further investigation, officials found white residue on her desk and a tampon applicator on her person that “resembled a very small, cut straw,” police said.

As a result, Rednour was arrested and booked at Montgomery County Jail on charges of public intoxication, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Rednour remains in custody and has been placed on leave from the school pending investigation.
