Ellen DeGeneres July 4 Burglary Is Believed To Be An Inside Job

From her Fourth of July break-in to being exposed as toxic in her work environment, Ellen DeGeneres can not seem to keep her name out of headlines. This week, news broke in regards to her recent break-in, leading police to assume that the act was an inside job.

The day-time talk show host and her wife, Portia De Rossi, reside in Montecito, California. Their home was the only home burglarized on July 4.

On Wednesday, the Montecito Association published a newsletter to its residents stating that the Sheriff believes the crime was an inside job.

“If it had been a case of outsiders coming in and breaking and entering, I’d have alerted you to be on the lookout and lock up everything,” the newsletter stated. “According to Sheriff Lt. Arnoldi, that appears to be an inside job.”

This assumption is likely considering DeGeneres and De Rossi are not the only stars residing in the area. According to Page Six, Oprah Winfrey, Ariana Grande, and Meghan Markle and Prince Harry also live nearby.

The investigation is still ongoing. DeGeneres and her wife are not thought to be affiliated with the break-in.

Despite the negativity int the media, DeGeneres is apparently “doing great,” according to De Rossi.
