Several of the country’s wealthiest businessmen will attend Donald Trump’s inauguration, even having seats together.
Billionaires Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, and Mark Zuckerberg will hold prominent positions at the ceremony alongside Cabinet nominees and elected officials, an event planner has confirmed. These tech industry leaders, whose combined wealth tops $885 billion per Bloomberg, offer a high level of influence as Trump heads into the next four years.
Musk, a key figure in Trump’s newly formed DOGE advisory board, has stood by the convicted felon since endorsing him in July, contributing over $250 million to the campaign. Zuckerberg adjusted lobbying strategies and content policies while contributing $1 million to the inaugural fund. Bezos, who owns The Washington Post, chose neutrality during the presidential race, overruling staff who supported Democratic nominee Kamala Harris. Amazon, Bezos’s retail masterwork, followed with its own $1 million contribution.
Despite past rivalries among Bezos, Musk, and Zuckerberg, Trump’s second White House tenure presents new opportunities for each. Meta faces antitrust scrutiny, while Amazon and SpaceX navigate federal contracts crucial to their operations. Continuing to cozy up to Trump can help soothe each of their business woes.
