Elon Musk has announced that he will be re-launching Twitter’s premium service that will offer colored check marks to accounts.
The move comes shortly after Musk declared he would give “amnesty” for suspended accounts.
Due to a surge of fake accounts, Twitter previously suspended the premium service, which under Musk, gave blue-check labels to anyone paying $8 per month.
“All verified accounts will be manually authenticated before check activates,” he said, adding it was “Painful, but necessary” and promising a “longer explanation” next week. He said the service was “tentatively launching” on Dec. 2.
