Elon Musk, Tesla CEO and owner of the social media platform X, revealed his creation of the America PAC, a super PAC designed to bolster Trump’s campaign
A website claiming to help users register to vote turns out to be a data collection scheme orchestrated by Elon Musk’s political action committee (PAC), aimed at aiding the Republican presidential nominee, Donald Trump, against Vice President Kamala Harris. While users from non-competitive states like California and Wyoming are directed to voter registration pages, those from battleground states like Pennsylvania and Georgia face a different experience, according to CNBC.
Instead of being guided to their state’s voter registration page, users in key states are prompted to fill out a detailed form asking for their address, cell phone number, and age. Even after providing this information, they are not directed to a registration page but rather a “thank you” page, leaving them unregistered and their personal data in the hands of a political operation.
The America PAC has spent over $800,000 since early July on digital ads targeting voters in key battleground states, including Arizona, Michigan, Georgia, North Carolina, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, as reported by AdImpact.
