Eminem is set to take the stage during the 2022 Super Bowl halftime show, and he’s a bit nervous about it.
The 49-year-old rapper will hit the stage on Sunday at the SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, with other big names; Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar.
He recently appeared on SiriusXM’s Sway in The Morning and talked about his nerves as the big day approaches.
“I’mma tell you, it’s f—ing nerve-wracking. It’s f—ing nerve-wracking,” the rapper told host Sway Calloway. “This to me… there’s nothing more final than live TV. So, if you f— up, your f— up is there forever.”
People don’t really know what to expect of this year’s halftime show because the details of the star-studded show have been kept a secret, but the “Lose Yourself” rapper says that he’s been “blown away” by Dr. Dre’s vision and Lamar’s “top tier” lyrics.
“When the whole thing started going down and we were like, ‘OK, this might be actually serious.’ I was trying to envision what Dre. might do,” Eminem explained. “I was thinking like, yeah, that’s dope that all of us are gonna rap together, right and that kind of thing, but I didn’t expect the production to be like this.”
Last month, Eminem appeared in a Pepsi commercial titled “The Call” which was made to promote his upcoming performance in the annual halftime show.
In the commercial, each artist gets a text message from Dr. Dre, 51, who sent a text inviting them to meet at SoFi Stadium.
It featured each performer individually and highlighted some of their biggest songs before all five of them appeared together outside of SoFi Stadium.
