It was initially reported by Puck that Eminem and the NFL had gone back and forth about whether or not he should take a knee during the Super Bowl halftime show. Even though the league didn’t want him to, he did anyway.Â
But a source from the NFL told the New York Post that there was no truth to those rumors. The league said players have been kneeling since 2016, and there would be no reason that one of the musical talents wouldn’t be able to do so.Â
The report also said the league had an issue with something to do with Snoop Dogg’s outfit, saying it appeared “gang-related.Â
Apparently, Dr. Dre, who reportedly shelled out $7 million of his own money to make the set happen, had his own issues with the NFL. He allegedly felt “disgustingly censored” after being told they couldn’t curse or use some lyrics to “Still D.R.E.” The league did not want Dre to include his “still not loving police” lyrics.
