It was revealed Tuesday that Eminem has signed on to appear in Starz’s upcoming drama BMF (Black Mafia Family) as “White Boy Rick.”
The Wrap reports that Slim Shady will only appear in one episode as Richard Wershe Jr. Wershe worked as an FBI informant from ages 14 to 16 before getting arrested at 17 for cocaine possession. He was sentenced to life in prison but was finally freed in June of last year.
“I’m honored and appreciative of my good friend Em for supporting my new show ‘BMF,'” 50 Cent said in a statement to the outlet. “We couldn’t do a show based in Detroit without incorporating the legend that is Eminem.”
He reposted a screenshot of the article on his Instagram Tuesday. “Oh yeah i’m bringing the big dogs out, I couldn’t do a show based in Detroit without incorporating the legend @eminem,” he captioned the post. “Got him to play white Boy Rick in BMF, this sh*t is out of here.”

BMF centers around Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory and Terry “Southwest T” Flenory. The brothers rose to notoriety running a criminal enterprise on the streets of Detroit in the late ’80s.
The show stars Demetrius “Lil Meech” Flenory Jr. playing his father, Da’Vinchi, Russell Hornsby, Michole Briana, Snoop Dogg, La La Anthony, Serayah, and more. Starz describes the series as a “story about love, kinship, and capitalism in pursuit of the American dream.” The show will make its debut on September 26.
