ESPN has issued an apology after airing footage of the World Trade Center’s Twin Towers during Sunday’s NBA playoff game.
On Sunday, ESPN’s senior director of communications, Ben Cafardo, wrote in an email statement to Awful Announcing, stating, “We mistakenly used an old stock image and we apologize.”
Viewers noticed the image during the game’s halftime.
