On the latest episode of her podcast “Drop the Lo,” reality star Evelyn Lozada, alongside daughter Shaniece, brought a familiar voice to the mic: her ex-fiancé, former MLB player Carl Crawford.

The two sat down for a rare, honest conversation about their breakup and how they’ve kept things respectful ever since.
“It was such a clean breakup,” Lozada shared, setting the tone.
Crawford agreed, adding that the split wasn’t about drama or bitterness.
“It was clean to me. I really just had stuff to get out of my system. So I didn’t even ever look at it as a bad thing,” he said. “We had Leo. I just said, ‘Man, I’m just going to try to make sure I keep everything straight for him,’ adding, “It was my fault.”
The former couple began dating in 2013 and got engaged by the end of that year. In March 2014, they welcomed their son, Carl Leo. But by August 2017, the engagement was over, with infidelity allegedly being at the center of the split. Lozada herself claimed at the time of the breakup that Crawford had been unfaithful.
Shaniece praised her mother for the way she handled the breakup and refrained from creating a public spectacle. This split was drastically different from Lozada’s divorce from Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson. Their 41-day marriage ended after Johnson allegedly head-butted Lozada.
