It has been discovered that every deleted post on the Parler app has been archived, including those containing location data. Parler has been called into question for its involvement in helping Trump supporters plan the deadly Capitol riot on January 6th.
A single researcher, who asked only to be identified by her Twitter username, @donk_enby, has begun the task of cataloging posts from January 6th by users of the Parler app. She hopes to create an organized record for other researchers to look through as investigations into the deadly riot continue.
Through her archiving work, @donk_enby has uncovered a plethora of “very incriminating” evidence. She has captured nearly 99.9 percent of Parler content. On Sunday, the self-proclaimed “hacker” revealed that she had uncovered original files and videos uploaded to the platform, including GPS coordinates, which shows users’ location when the videos were filmed.
The location data could assist law enforcement, who have been pursuing those who participated in the deadly riot. So far, they have made over a dozen arrests.
The MAGA terrorists used the platform and several others to organize their breach on the Capitol to overturn the 2020 presidential election results, which showed Joe Biden to be the winner. Their attack left five dead, including Capitol police officer Brian Sicknick, who died after being struck in the head with a fire extinguisher.
