If you’re like me and you grew up watching “Everybody Loves Raymond”, you saw Sawyer Sweeten; child actor who played one of Raymond’s twin sons, grow up before your eyes. Sadly, his sister Madylin Sweeten (who also starred on the sitcom as Ally Barron), confirmed today that Sawyer passed away early Thursday morning.
Weeks away from his 20th birthday, CNN reports that Sawyer’s cause of death was suicide. He was visiting family in Texas when the teenager shot himself on their front porch.
Sweeten began his role on the show at age 1 1/2 before he (or his twin) could even speak. The series had a devoted fan base and ran successfully from 1996-2005.
