After accepting a plea agreement in late August rather than facing trial on 71 allegations of sex crimes, an ex-Bossier City cop was sentenced to 20 years in prison yesterday.
According to KTBS, Terry Yetman, 40, was sentenced to four years in prison for each of the five counts of animal sexual assault consecutively. He was also given an additional 20 years for possessing child pornography, which he will serve concurrently.
In August 2018, the Louisiana State Police Special Victims Unit opened an investigation on Yetman for alleged animal abuse. Electronic evidence during the investigation uncovered acts of bestiality on Boss, a retired police dog.
On December 19, 2018, Yetman turned himself in to the Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Department. He was apprehended and placed into the Bossier Parish Maximum Security prison, where he was charged with 20 felony charges of conducting sexual activities on an animal and 20 criminal counts of filming sexual acts on an animal under Louisiana’s crime against nature law.
That following year in April 2019 he was arrested on an additional 31 counts of possessing child pornography.
