The ex-boyfriend of Azsia Johnson has been arrested for slaying the 20-year-old.
Azsia Johnson was killed by Isaac Argro while she was walking their 3-month-old daughter in a stroller. Argo was immediately named as the suspect after he allegedly stalked and abused Johnson in the past.
On Friday, Argo was captured and taken into custody at Manhattan’s 19th precinct. Argo refused to talk to investigators and asked for his lawyer.
On New Year’s Day, Johnson reported to cops that Argo had assaulted her at his home while she was six months pregnant. Johnson moved to a domestic abuse shelter in East Harlem over safety concerns.
Despite her fears of Argo, Johnson agreed to meet up with him because she felt terrible that he wasn’t in their daughter’s life. Johnson was on the way to meet Argo when she was shot in the head at point-blank range.
Argo was charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon. However, he maintains that he is not to blame and says, “I’m innocent,” while entering Manhattan Central Booking.
