Former NFL linebacker Adarius Taylor, known for his time with the Carolina Panthers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Cleveland Browns, was arrested on May 8 in Polk County, Florida. Authorities allege that Taylor left his 6-year-old son, who has medical issues, unattended in a car while he attempted to solicit a prostitute.
According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, Taylor responded to a fictitious online advertisement for escort services, which was part of a law enforcement sting operation. He allegedly brought his child to a location, left him in the vehicle, and entered a hotel room to meet with an undercover deputy posing as a sex worker. Video footage reportedly shows Taylor discussing sexual activities with the officer before leaving the room, after which he was arrested.
Upon his arrest, deputies discovered the child alone in the car. Taylor faces charges of negligent child abuse without bodily harm and soliciting another for prostitution. He was released on a $6,000 bond and is scheduled for arraignment on June 10.
