Brad William Henke passed at the age of 56. He is known for his time playing in the NFL, and his appearance in the hit show Orange is the New Black.
Sources say Henke died in his sleep Tuesday, TMZ reported.
The New York Giants drafted him in 1989; five years later, he retired and started his acting career. He landed roles on TV shows OITNB, Justified, and Lost. He also had screentime in movies including Pacific Rim and World Trade Center.
He got into acting after appearing in commercials. From there, he had guest roles on the series ER, Nash Bridges, and Chicago Hope before landing a host of reoccurring roles.
His manager, Matt Delpiano, told TMZ, “Brad was an incredibly kind man of joyous energy. A very talented actor, he loved being a part of this community….and we loved him back. Our thoughts are with his wife and family.”
The cause of his death hasn’t been released.
