Adam Sandler‘s new movie ‘Hustle,’ executive produced by Lebron James, hits Netflix on June 8. Before the film’s release, Baller Alert caught up with the cast at the movie’s premiere in Los Angeles and got a sneak peek of the movie’s final cut too!
Starring Queen Latifah and Juancho Hernangomez, the movie displays Sandler’s acting skills and love for basketball. In this heart-warming sports tale, an NBA scout who has higher ambitions of being a coach discovers a Spanish streetball player who has the potential to make it in the league.
Last year, the ‘Equalizer’ actress told Jimmy Fallon her “dream came true” when she played Sandler’s wife in the film. In an exclusive interview with Baller Alert, she confirmed that he lived up to her expectations of a “work husband.”
“He is the kindest, most thoughtful work husband. He’s a good provider. He takes care of his family, and we straight, ” said Queen. “We had such a good time on set.”
Sandler also spoke about his time with Queen, saying he always “lights up” when she’s around and “was happy they were married in the movie.” When asked if he knew about Queen’s “crush” on him before filming, the actor jokingly said, “she sent those vibes out.”
This would be Sandler’s third time teaming up with Netlfix after the massive success of Uncut Gems and Hubie Halloween. Critics are already saying ‘Hustle’ will have the same success as its predecessors. It may even have the potential to be one of the top sports movies in history.
The ‘Grown Ups’ actor has always been a fan of Lebron James and told Baller Alert he never imagined the two would partner together. “I didn’t know this was coming,” he said. “I’ve watched Lebron a lot. I’ve been to a lot of games and didn’t know we’d be working together — but I’m very happy we did.”
When discussing ‘Hustle,’ Sandler described the film as “visually” appealing. “It’s not like a movie I’ve been in before,” he said. “Everything these athletes did was pretty damn cool.”
His co-star Queen Latifah seemingly agreed, stating viewers should expect a lot of “heart, laughter, emotions and all the stars.”
