Experts Say Frozen Pizzas and Other Frozen Foods Like French Fries and Packaged Dinners Are Ruining People’s Health

Experts say there are a number of frozen foods that aren’t good for your health, one of which is frozen pizza.

You might have to say goodbye to your favorite frozen quick eats, as experts say that the same toaster or 350-degree warm-up foods we grew up to love are destroying your health.

“When it comes to frozen foods, several nutrients are of major concern for heart health; salt, sugar and unhealthy fats,” said registered dietitian Angela L. Lago. “Not only are foods that contain an excess of these nutrients inflammatory, they are also key drivers for obesity, heart disease, high blood pressure and diabetes.” Fox News reports that The American Heart Association (AHA) recommends a person have no more than 2,300 milligrams of sodium a day, but the “ideal limit” is no more than 1,500 mg per day.

Some of the frozen foods experts say are the worst are frozen packaged dinners, frozen pizza roll snacks, frozen baked goods, frozen pizza, frozen pot pies, frozen calzones, sweet and spicy chicken and even frozen fries.

“When you order French fries, you’re also getting a heaping helping of fat and calories,” said Janet Coleman, registered dietitian of TheConsumerMag.com, Fox News reports. Lago says frozen pizza is jam-packed with salt, calories and fat.

“Frozen pizza is a high-calorie food that is loaded with calories, salt and fat. While there are healthier choices, such as thin crust options topped with vegetables, most frozen pizzas have a thicker refined grain crust, topped with cheese and processed meat,” said Lago.
