Stevie J and Faith Evans believe the Notorious B.I.G. would be accepting of their marriage.
Before his passing, Biggie Smalls and Stevie were close friends who also made music together. Stevie produced several records for the Brooklyn rapper, as well as the late rapper’s then-wife, Evans. Evans and Biggie were wed back on August 4, 1994, and had a child together, C.J. Wallace. C.J., who is Stevie’s Godson, became his step-son after he and Evans got married earlier this year.
During an interview with TMZ’s Raquel Harper on “Raq Topics,” Stevie explained why Biggie would be happy that the two are together. “Listen, it’s 27 years later, and I’m sure he’d be happy that she’s happy,” “He’d be doing his thing. I just make sure that she’s good and we’re good. Long as me and her are good, and the kids are good — between us we have 10 children, so that’s a lot.”
Evans says she and Stevie were always friends, but they were never a part of the same clique. “If I started dating Lil Cease or Nino [Brown] or Banger or somebody, then I would look at myself like, ‘Bitch, what are you doing?’” she said. “And I had a whole ‘nother 14-year marriage between this marriage and Big,” she said, adding that she has had other relationships before Stevie.
“Biggie was my first true love, he will always be acknowledged as such. Everyone knows he was my husband,” said Evans.
