It wasn’t long ago that Malachi Love-Robinson made national news for posing as a doctor when he was just a teenager.
Robinson, who is now 23 years old, appears to be up to his old shenanigans, WPTV News reports.
According to authorities, Love-Robinson is accused again of fraud and grand theft. While working for a shipping broker, it’s alleged that he had clients send over $10,000 to his personal account instead of the company’s account.
He was arrested Thursday morning and released later that night.
Apparently, he admitted his guilt in text exchanges to the company’s owner, saying he “f**** himself,” “can’t say how truly sorry he is,” and is “doing everything [he] can to make it right.”
He also said he didn’t want to go to jail.
Two years ago, Love-Robinson–AKA Dr. Love–pleaded guilty to fraud charges, grand theft, and practicing medicine without a license. He made headlines when it was discovered that he lied about holding several professional degrees, including a Ph.D. and an M.D.
None of his patients knew he was only 18 years old at the time. After stealing over $20,000 from an elderly patient he was “treating” in Palm Beach County, his little scheme unraveled.
He was charged and arrested for that 2015 incident in February of 2016. However, he denied saying he ever claimed to be a medical doctor. Instead, he insisted he said he was a naturopathic physician.
Love-Robinson served 21 months at a maximum-security prison near Fort Myers, Florida.
