A family is pleading for answers after a Philadelphia teen mysteriously vanished shortly before her graduation.
Shalaya Porter was last seen on Monday, June 5th, near her home at 46th Street and Fairmount Avenue. When her graduation day rolled around on Friday, June 9th, the 18-year-old was nowhere to be found. Her mother located her cell phone on her bed after calling it and realizing it was ringing inside the home. But there was no sign of Porter.
What’s troubling is that Porter is known as an extremely reliable teen with a good attendance record at school. Her loved ones say she was excited to graduate and begin college at Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland. The young lady was planning to study architecture and fashion.

“Shalaya would have never missed the opportunity to go to college. Shalaya would have never left her mom,” stated Porter’s aunt, Felicia Hill.
Porter’s relatives have passed out about 2,000 flyers in their search for her. As of now, there seem to be no leads in her disappearance. On Tuesday, a rally was held at Motivation High School, where Porter was scheduled to graduate. Her mother, Kaleia Porter, shared a message with anyone who may be holding her daughter during the rally.
“That’s my only child. Just let her go. Bring her home. I’ll send a cash reward for you. I just can’t do this without her,” Kaleia pleaded.
Anyone with information regarding Porter’s whereabouts is urged to contact the Philadelphia Police Southwest Detective Division at 215-686-3183.
