Family Demands Answers After Twins Found Dead on Unfamiliar Mountain, Questions Murder-Suicide Theory [Video]

A chilling mystery is unfolding on Bell Mountain in Towns County after twin brothers, Qaadir and Naazir Lewis, were found dead nearly 90 miles from their home in Lawrenceville. While the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) is initially treating the case as a murder-suicide, the victims’ family is questioning this theory, insisting that it doesn’t align with what they know of the brothers.

The 19-year-old twins were discovered Saturday morning by a hiker at the Bell Mountain summit, near the North Carolina border. The discovery stunned their family, who believed the twins had traveled to Boston to visit friends.

“We want answers, we want to know exactly what happened to the twins,” said their aunt, Samira Brawner.

Family members emphasized that the twins were inseparable and had no history of conflict. “They’re very protective of each other. They love each other,” shared their uncle, Rahim Brawner. “I couldn’t imagine them hurting each other.”

The family revealed that the brothers had planned to fly to Boston on Friday but missed their flight. Twenty-four hours later, they were found in a place they had never been. “How did they end up out in the mountains? They don’t hike out there,” Brawner questioned.

Though the GBI’s preliminary findings suggest a murder-suicide, the family firmly rejects this conclusion. “We knew right away that wasn’t true,” said Brawner. “Something happened in those mountains, and we want answers,” added their aunt, Yasmine Brawner. The GBI is awaiting further forensic results to finalize the cause of death.
