Following Cardi B‘s actions at her recent show, a battery investigation has been initiated by the police.
In a viral video, the Grammy-winning rapper is seen throwing her microphone at an audience member who had thrown a drink at her during her performance at Drai’s Beachclub in Las Vegas on Saturday. Sometime during her performance of the 2017 hit “Bodak Yellow,” a fan emptied her cup, filled with water and ice, on the rapper. Clearly upset, Cardi B reacted by throwing the microphone toward the person responsible. Security promptly escorted the fan out of the venue following the incident.
In another video, Cardi B can be heard requesting fans to cool her down by throwing some water, although it reportedly occurred after the incident.
Addressing the incident on Stationhead on Sunday, she expressed her frustration, stating, “A [bleep] got [bleep] assaulted. When water and ice get thrown in your [bleep] face and hit you mad hard. What happened yesterday was blatantly disrespectful.”
That same day, the fan involved in the incident filed a police report for battery. However, no arrests or citations were made, as reported by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. This occurrence marks Cardi as one of the latest artists to experience an attack from an audience member. In a similar incident last month, a man was charged with assault for hitting pop singer Bebe Rexha with a phone.
