Fans aren’t here for Kanye West’s new song that reportedly tackles slut-shaming and plastic surgery.
Mr. West’s upcoming 7-track album is still in production but Ye has announced a few details about a few of its songs. In particular, the Chicago rapper will be teaming up with #NickiMinaj on a record that will highlight the controversy centered around plastic surgery and body-shaming.
But fans aren’t taking it too seriously and are giving him a figurative middle finger, as his contradictory past doesn’t go along with his newfound enlightenment. It wasn’t too long ago that West claimed he had to take “30 showers” after being with his ex Amber Rose in order for him to be ready for now-wife Kim Kardashian, whose claim to fame was having a sex tape with Ray J. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Nonetheless, West says he “loves taking two stigmas and flipping it to a positive.” In the brief interview with #RaquelHarper, he later says that plastic surgery will be another stigma he wants to tackle. No matter the good he believes that he is contributing to the world, the world seems to be telling him to “keep it.” Social media reacted to the news on Twitter, several questioned Nicki’s involvement while others attacked West’s lack of self-reflection.
One user wrote, “Kanye West literally used Taylor Swift’s naked wax figure in his music video and he and his wife talked shit about her while she just defended herself and now he is coming with this. This is a perfect example of hypocrisy. He’s doing this just to seek attention.”
The song features Ty DollaSign and Nicki Minaj and will be on his newest album Yandhi. Other artists featured on the album include Jeremih, Kid Cudi, and PartyNextDoor.
