The moment, captured by cameras, quickly caught the attention of fans and media alike, adding another layer of questions about James’ relationship with Drizzy. James has long been a vocal supporter of Drake’s career, frequently posting about him on social media and even sharing personal moments with the rapper. However, in recent years, there seems to have been a shift in their dynamic. James’ performance, mouthing the lyrics to Lamar’s track, was particularly notable given that Lamar and Drake are known rivals in the rap world. This moment has only fueled speculation that the two may no longer be on the same friendly terms.
The shift became more apparent earlier this year when James was spotted attending Lamar’s Pop Out concert in Los Angeles. This is the move that first raised eyebrows, given the rapper’s longstanding rivalry with Drake. While the basketball star has not publicly addressed the situation, it’s evident he is a big fan of the West Coast lyricist.
Meanwhile, Drake is suing Universal Music Group over the success of another James’ favorite, “Not Like Us.” He believes the label used bots and unfair practices to fuel Lamar’s success this year ahead of “GNX.”
