Fans are defending Denzel Washington after he was recently asked if he knew who actor Damson Idris was.
During a red carpet interview for the premiere of his recently directed film “A Journal for Jordan”, Washington was asked if he knew of the “Snowfall” actor and that he had previously auditioned for a role with him in his 2016 Oscar-winning picture “Fences.”
In response, Washington said a bit confused, “Who are you talking about? I don’t know who that is. What show? ‘Snowfall’? No disrespect, Damson, no disrespect.”

Since then, fans have been going back and forth on social media defending the legendary actor.
Damson also caught wind of the now-viral clip and reacted.
“Call me Dancin Address from now on. I won’t answer to anything else 😂,,” he tweeted, jokingly mocking Washington’s pronunciation of his name.
