Earlier this week, Megan Thee Stallion and True Religion announced their collaboration, sending the hotties into a frenzy.
In a statement, Megan expressed her excitement for the partnership, sharing that she has been a True Religion lover since she was a child.
“Working with True Religion is such a full-circle moment,” Megan said. “I’ve been a fan of the brand since I was a kid, so it’s really exciting to star in this campaign and bring in the Hot Girl Holidays in a special way.”
The announcement revealed that Megan will be part of the brand’s 2024 Holiday Campaign, modeling True Religion’s festive collection, which features the iconic horseshoe logo.
However, shortly after the announcement was made, many people took to social media to share their opinions about the collaboration. According to many users, the partnership should’ve gone to rapper Sexyy Red because the brand is heavily incorporated into her persona.
“True Religion definitely should’ve gave an endorsement deal to sexyy red…it would’ve made more sense,” one user wrote on Twitter, while another added, “I ain’t never seen her in True Religion but I definitely seen sexy red wearing them religiously.”

While it’s unclear if True Religion was responding directly to the online discussion, the fashion company explained its reasoning for selecting Megan for the role, calling her the “perfect face” for the campaign.
“We’re very excited to partner with Megan Thee Stallion for this incredible campaign,” True Religion CEO Michael Buckley said. “She’s the absolute perfect face for our women’s business right now, which is seeing double-digit growth [versus] last year.”
“Megan Thee Stallion who is hotter than hot right now but also, a ‘true’ fan which makes this a milestone moment for the brand,” Kristen D’Arcy, chief marketing officer at True Religion, added. “I know that our loyal customers will love everything this campaign stands for. And with a diverse, 360-degree approach that includes tons of surprise and delight behind-the-scenes content, we’re confident that many new customers will have a chance to discover the brand as well.”
Nonetheless, Megan recently starred in True Religion’s “Where Holiday Wishes Come True” campaign alongside rapper Hunxho. As of Tuesday, fans can catch the collection in-store and online.
