Fatima Robinson, the woman behind the choreographer on The Wiz Live!, is getting her own show on NBC.
After the success of The Wiz Live, and the dance moves displayed on stage, show producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron are looking to focus on Fatima for their next big project.
Zadan and Neil are working on a series based on Fatima’s life that will take place in Los Angeles. The show will have a back-in-the-day feel since the show is set in the 90’s where dance starts to make its way from the club to pop culture. Zadan and Neil were certain that her story was perfect for a show.
Fatima has an authentic style of Hip-Hop dance, that is sure to get you grooving and moving. She has worked with the likes of Michael Jackson, Aaliyah and more. “We worked with her on the Oscars and knew she was special,” Zadan said.
The show is still in search of a writer. Fatima will executive produce alongside Craig Zadan and Neil Meron. Fatima will be choreographing for the series so if you enjoyed The Wiz Live, you should enjoy this as well.
