Maryland man Eric Lin, 35, has been arrested on suspicion of plotting a mass shooting targeting Hispanics in Florida, court documents filed Monday reveal.
According to Huffington Post, Lin said he wanted to kill as many Hispanic people as he could in Miami and other areas, an FBI agent said in an affidavit filed Monday with the Southern District of Florida.
In a series of long Facebook messages, Lin made multiple threats of sexual violence, genocide, and cannibalism, along with a ton of racial and ethnic slurs, and praise for Adolf Hitler.
Lin is only an addition to the growing number of men arrested for plotting mass shootings since the most recent terrorist attacks in El Paso, TX, and Dayton, OH.
Documents also state he praised the Trump administration for supporting what he called a “race war.”
He allegedly wrote. “I thank God every day President Donald John Trump is President.”
The person on the receiving end of the messages said Lin often frequented a restaurant where they worked. The conversations lasted over a three-month span, once downloaded and printed, the messages equaled 150 pages.
Just over this past weekend, five others were also arrested for making threats pertaining to mass shootings and hate crimes.
