The Feds are reportedly upset at Kanye West and Drake for putting on a concert to push for the release of a criminal the government considers to be the “worst of the worst.”
According to TMZ, federal prosecutors were “surprised” to see Drizzy and Ye throwing their newly unified support behind a movement to free Hoover, considering all the facts in his criminal case.
In 1973, Larry Hoover was convicted and sentenced for murder in Illinois. While he wasn’t the triggerman, prosecutors claim he directed the shooting of a man he accused of stealing from his gang, Chicago’s infamous Gangster Disciples.
While serving 150-200 years for the murder, the feds moved to indict and convict Hoover for drug conspiracy, extortion, and engaging in organized crime.
He started serving six life sentences in a federal Supermax prison in 1997.
Federal prosecutors believe Larry Hoover is precisely where he belongs. Still, his supporters believe the U.S. government over-sentenced him especially considering his federal crimes were related to drug distribution and not murders.
The 71-year-old has been incarcerated for 48 years, and the feds believe Ye and Drizzy could have picked inmates more deserving of their support.
