Styling Your Image, Inc.
“Create & Inspire” is her charge.
Wardrobe stylist, costume designer, and personal shopper, Leisel “Q” Quamie sets the standard for styling authenticity. Single handedly infusing personal style with the latest trends, the Brooklyn, New York native creates style solutions for everyday people and some of today’s most recognized celebrities.

On a whim, Q enrolled in a styling class, which eventually provided her with jetsetter status as she studied trend forecasting and fashion styling in London, Paris, Milan, and Florence. With a well-developed sense of design, color, textile, and fabric expertise, Q graduated from New York City’s Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) with a degree in Fashion Business Management.

From New York to Los Angeles
After moving to Los Angeles, Q received international exposure as a stylist on 4 seasons of UPN’s hit, “America’s Next Top Model” and season one of “The Tyra Banks Show.” Q’s work with Tyra, including styling her for Oprah Winfrey’s Legends Ball, garnered praise from Vogue’s legendary Editor-at-Large, Andre Leon Talley, who declared, “Tyra finally has good people around her.”

In September 2006, Q began styling actor-director-producer Forest Whitaker for appearances surrounding his role as Ugandan dictator Idi Amin in Fox Searchlight Pictures’ biopic, “The Last King of Scotland.” These appearances include the 64th Annual Golden Globe Awards, the 13th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards, the 2007 Orange British Academy Film Awards, The View, Saturday Night Live, and the 79th Annual Academy Awards, where he won Best Actor honors. Forest’s Red Carpet appearances wearing Domenico Vacca, Calvin Klein, Hugo Boss, and Arnold Brant, among others selected by Q, have sealed his place as a fashion-forward favorite.

In addition to her extensive work with Whitaker, WNBA star Candace Parker of the Los Angeles Sparks, singer Kirk Franklin and Josh Childress of the NBA’s Atlanta Hawks, Q has also styled photo shoots featuring actor Jesse L. Martin of NBC’s “Law & Order,” actresses Angela Bassett and Hilary Duff, supermodel Christie Brinkley and racer Dale Earnhardt, Jr., among others. Q’s editorial and advertising work include Entertainment Weekly, People, Boston Common, Women’s Wear Daily, EBONY, O, Capitol File, DELL computers, Fuji, and Coca-Cola. Q recently added more television exposure to her repertoire as set stylist for MTV’s “Celebrity Rap Superstar” and “Randy Jackson Presents: America’s Best Dance Crew.”

While new stories emerge from every styling opportunity, the project closest to Q’s heart is “Beauty & Love,” a teen self-empowerment summit and non-profit organization she designed and produced. With the assistance of fellow celebrity stylist Nole’ Marin, “Beauty & Love” presents teen girls with insight on body image, fashion, self-respect, diet, and fitness.

Whether outfitting today’s top executives and brands, or styling America’s Next Top Model, Q lends her keen insight and fashion sense to match each client’s need. For more information about Leisel “Q” Quamie and Styling Your Image, Inc., visit http://www.LQStyles.com/
