Fetty Wap is opening up about the loss of his 4-year-old daughter, Lauren Maxwell, who passed away last month.
While the exact date of her passing is unclear, reports circulated in July that the young girl had died. Her mother Turquoise Miami and Fetty Wap have recently broken their silence and confirmed the heartbreaking news.
During an Instagram Live, the “Trap Queen” star held up a photo of Lauren and spoke of how his late daughter loved butterflies. He then asked his fans to pay tribute to her by commenting with the butterfly emoji in honor of Lauren. Before long, a stream of the blue animated characters was flooding the live stream.

“She love butterflies. She swear she was a mermaid,” Wap reminisced before becoming overcome with emotion as the love from his fans poured in.
Over the weekend, Turquoise took to Instagram to pay homage to her little girl, posting a Boomerang video of Lauren smiling inside of a swimming pool, referring to her as a “princess mermaid Aquarius.” She encouraged her followers to comment “I love you Lauren” on her post so that her baby girl could “feel” the outpouring of love.
