A fistfight erupted at the end of the school board meeting in Missouri on Tuesday evening after board officials unanimously approved a mask mandate as students return to classrooms.
Pleasant Hill Police Department officers responded to a fistfight involving several people in a parking lot after the Pleasant Hill Board of Education meeting. One person was handcuffed.
The school district voted for a mask mandate after 21 coronavirus cases were reported in the first nine days of the school year, which is already more than all of last year, KMBC confirmed. The news outlet also reported that 180 students and faculty in the district are currently quarantining.
