Three Alaskan first graders have been suspended from school after allegedly devising a plan to poison one of their classmates.
The female students were reportedly planning to use silica gel packets to “poison and kill” another student, the principal of Winterberry Charter School revealed in an email.
The substance is commonly found inside of food and medicine containers and is used to help preserve freshness. The students allegedly were planning to use the packets from their lunches to carry out their plan.
Fortunately school officials were alerted after another student overheard the plans. No one was hurt. According to the poison control center, silica gel is non-toxic but the beads used to hold the substance can be harmful.
