It really annoys me how blatantly disrespectful some people can be. Allow me to run down the scenario. First Lady Michelle Obama was speaking at a Democratic National Committee fundraiser which was being held at a private home. No cameras were present but midway through the speech a gay rights activist began to heckle the FLOTUS, shouting for the President to sign an executive order to protect gay and lesbian right. Let’s just say Michelle was not having it. “One of the things I don’t do well is this,” she began as she stepped down from the podium. She then walked towards the heckler and said “Listen to me or you can take the mic, but I’m leaving. You all decide. You have one choice.”
The heckler was identified as Ellen Sturtz, an activist for the pro-LGBT rights group GetEQUAL. She was escorted out and First Lady Obama was begged to stay and complete her speech.
I’m with you Michelle, one thing I don’t do well is disrespect! If you have a message you want to relay to the President, write a letter, put a stamp on it and mail it to the white house, ain’t nobody got time for that heckling mess. Don’t let the Chi-Town come out of FLOTUS. She’s not having it!
