First Lady of Plagiarism: Melania Trump Accused Of Reusing and Recycling Michelle Obama’s “Be Better” Quote for her New “Be Best” Initiative

Amid her husband’s low approval as president, #MelaniaTrump is looking to introduce new policies and campaigns that work, even if it means copying her predecessor.

For the second time in her short tenure as first lady, Trump has lifted words from Michelle Obama to spruce up her own speeches and policies. On Monday, social media users pointed out Trump’s plagiarism in her newly-launched “Be Best” awareness campaign. Amid the discovery, users found that the campaign seemed to be centered around Obama’s 2016 quote, where she encouraged men who wanted to help fight for women’s empowerment to “be better.”

“The three main pillars of “Be Best” will include well-being, social media use, and opioid abuse,” Trump said of her new initiative, which looks to help fight cyberbullying and drug epidemic. “We can and should teach children the importance of social and self-awareness, positive relationship skills, and responsible decision making. Once a child understands these vital skills, they will be able to communicate openly with one another and instill positive feelings of mutual respect, compassion, and self-esteem.”

If that wasn’t enough, the White House also released a booklet that is also almost identical to a document released by the Federal Trade Commission in 2014.
