Defensive line Peter Woods makes it clear that he’s fully committed to Clemson despite Deion Sanders attempt to recruit him.
Earlier this week, Woods spoke with reporters and claimed that former Jackson State coach Deion Sanders is “trying to holler at me and see how solid I am with my recruitment.”
Woods added that he is “100 percent locked in” with Clemson and is in “constant communication” with Alabama defensive line coach Freddie Roach.
“My Clemson family hits me up more than anybody else,” Woods said. “Even after I committed, they still recruit me.”
The five-star recruit immediately became the top recruit in Clemson’s 2023 class when he committed July 8th. Many believed the Alabama native was going to commit to the University of Alabama but Clemson won him over during an official July visit.
During that time, Woods listed Florida and Jackson State as finalists but decided on Clemson after forming close relationships with defensive line coach Nick Eason and defensive coordinator Wes Goodwin.
Woods stands at 6-foot-3 and 270 pounds and could become an essential player right away for Clemson as the team could lose a majority of its 2022 defensive line to graduation or the 2023 NFL Draft.
