Five Ways to Enjoy An “Adult Snow Day”

Snow days as a kid once meant getting up early, watching TV and grubbing out for the entire day, but what do you do as an adult? Most employers will close for the day, forcing some of us to entertain our significant others, be alone, gossip with a friend or catch up on some much-needed housework, but what if you could enjoy and adult snow day with that special someone?

Whether you’re single or dating, winter is usually that time of year where some of us let our guard down, mostly because it’s cold and we have nothing else better to do but to get cozy and warm with the opposite sex. Obviously, this is not a time to get stuck with your side chick or at one of your boys’ house, but a time to be with someone that you like and can stomach. You wouldn’t want to experience cabin fever with a person that you can barely tolerate just for a little loving.

Remember that most common months to conceive a baby is during the winter, so be careful and use your best judgement. Studies show that most babies are born around “September”, so what’s done in the dark shall undoubtedly come to light, so play responsibly folks.

Contraceptives are something that should be used whether you’re in a monogamous relationship or not.  Babies can be a significant life change and diseases are no  joke. No one wants a kid with someone that was convenient or an illness that can’t be cured, so knowing your partner’s status is important. If you’re looking for a “No Strings Attached” situation, put that on the table from the start.

Once you’re both on the same page, the fun stuff will be easy! One of the best ways to engage your partner or friend is to play into their interests. What are his/her likes and dislikes? Did you purchase all essentials to keep the excitement going for a few days? Food, Wine, and Games should get the ball rolling, but don’t forget that the number one thing on everyone lists is a cuddle time.

If cuddle time isn’t an option, there are plenty of other things to do but remember that this is not a time to sit and nag or bring up “old news”. Learn to enjoy the moment by removing things like social media, and office work and get back to what drew the two of you close in the first place or simply to get to know one another better.

1. Game night by the fire – There are all sorts of adult games that are loads of fun. Try stocking up on some $5.00 games from your local store and put your little spin on it.

2. Costumes and Role Play- How adventurous are you? Your significant other may need a fantasy fulfilled. Be open minded and think out of the box.

3. Cooking Challenge- Wither you’re a cooker or not, find a few recipes online and get to cooking. One way to a man’s heart is right through his stomach.

4. Bundle up and take a walk in the snow- Once the snow stop, take a quick stroll in the snow, and if you have a jokester on your hand, make a few homemade cardboard boxes and turn them into sleds.

5. In-home Spa DAY- A little eucalyptus, bath salts, and a  Zen music should help set the mood to relax the both of you.
