Five African Grey parrots from the British zoo Lincolnshire Wildlife Centre have been relocated due to their sailors’ tongues.
“We are used to parrots swearing, but these five relish it, “ stated Steve Nichols, the zoo’s chief executive.
In true entertainer fashion, the birds reacted to the crowd, becoming more verbally explicit with each new laugh and giggle from their audience.
While many visitors enjoyed the show, this behavior isn’t appropriate for a family environment with children present.
“When a parrot tells you to ‘f— off’ it amuses people very highly; it’s brought a big smile to a really hard year,” said Nichols.
In an attempt to diminish the vulgarness of the environment, the five parrots have separated and relocated to different areas in the zoo.
Nichols made the following statement, “I hope the birds learn new words in their new habitats — if I end up with 250 swearing birds, I don’t know what we’ll do.”
