Fivio Foreign is one step closer to freedom after pleading guilty in a New Jersey courtroom.
The rapper, known for hits like “Big Drip,” admitted to third-degree terroristic threats as part of a deal tied to a tense confrontation that went down on New Year’s Day.
The case began in Edgewater, NJ, where Fivio was accused of threatening a woman during a heated parking lot exchange. She claimed she had asked for a jumpstart, but things got aggressive fast.
According to her statement, Fivio made a threat about her parking near his building. Witnesses backed her story, and surveillance footage reportedly did too.
Although police never found a weapon, the accusations were serious. Fivio was picked up weeks later, on January 18, and has been in custody ever since.
Prosecutors originally hit him with multiple charges, including gun possession and assault, but most were tossed in exchange for his guilty plea on the threat charge.
His lawyer, Adam Lustberg, argued that the evidence was shaky and questioned the strength of the case altogether. Still, Fivio’s been locked up for months, and now his team is counting on time served to help secure his release when sentencing rolls around in August.
If the court agrees, Fivio could avoid more jail time and walk away with probation.
