Flau’jae Johnson opened up about where things stand with her and Angel Reese.
During her appearance on The Breakfast Club, the LSU guard was asked about her current relationship with Reese. “We’re not friends,” she said with zero hesitation.
She made it clear that their legacy together remains solid. “That bond we had, and what we did together, winning that title… you can never take that away from us.”
However, Flau’jae was honest about the tension behind closed doors. “It was a lot of media, a lot of locker room stuff, you know what I’m saying?” she shared.
She didn’t go into specifics, but it was clear something shifted after their championship run. Still, there’s no hate, she gave Reese credit for making her mark in the WNBA with the Chicago Sky.
“I support her in everything she do,” Flau’jae said. “She’s killing it.” She also admitted she defends Reese online when critics come for her. “I be clowning the folks that be talking down on her. I’m just proud of her.”
Now a junior at LSU and building her music career, Flau’jae isn’t looking back with regrets.
The friendship may be over, but the respect still stands. “Stuff happens… you wish it didn’t, but it does. You just gotta grow.”
