On Thursday, an unruly passenger was arrested after trying to open an exit door one hour into a #DeltaAirlines Flight to Beijing. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
According to CNN, the flight took off around 5:24 p.m. As the plane flew by Canada’s western coast, 23-year-old, #JosephDanielHudek IV, attempted to open the exit door. Although, the door would not open due to the difference in air pressure, CNN reports that the door could have possibly opened if the plane was at a lower altitude. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Two flight attendants tried to stop Hudek, who was traveling first class on a travel pass, but they were overpowered. The attendants then summoned a few passengers for assistance. During the struggle, Hudek reportedly assaulted one of the attendants and hit one of the passengers with a wine bottle, just before another attendant came and hit Hudek over the head with two wine bottles. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
“Hudek did not seem impacted by the breaking of a full-liter red wine bottle over his head, and instead, shouted ‘Do you know who I am?” or something to that extent,” the criminal complaint read. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Eventually, Hudek was restrained. The plane then returned to Seattle and released Hudek into police custody just hours before leaving again for Beijing. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Both the flight attendant and the passenger were taken to the hospital for treatment. Hudek was injured as well but refused medical attention. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

According to CNN, Hudek faces up to 20 years in prison and fines up to $250,000 for one count of interfering with a flight crew.
