The young son of rapper Flo Rida is fighting for his life after falling from a five-story apartment window earlier this month.
The devastating accident took place on March 4th at the Jersey City, New Jersey apartment of Flo Rida’s ex, Alexis Adams. The former partners’ six-year-old son Zohar Dillard fell out of a window, though the circumstances leading up to the fall remain unclear. Dillard is a special needs child who has previously been diagnosed with autism and hydrocephalus, a neurological disorder caused by fluid buildup on the brain.
The injuries Dillard sustained from the fall include a liver laceration, collapsed lungs, internal bleeding, a shattered pelvis, and several other fractures. As of Wednesday, he remained in intensive care. Adams is now seeking legal action against the apartment complex. Per her complaint, Goldberg Management refused to install guards on the windows, which would have prevented Dillard from falling and landing on the pavement below.
“It is devastating to see my child go through such pain and trauma knowing that this could’ve been avoided,” Adams stated in the lawsuit, claiming the complex was careless in its handling of safety measures.
Adams is going after an unspecified amount in damages to help cover Dillard’s medical costs. Flo Rida was not mentioned in the lawsuit. Those being sued include Pitch Perfect 74, LLC, Goldberg Management, Carlos Machado, a window installation company, and several others.
Thursday, Flo Rida took to Instagram to thank supporters for their well wishes.
“Great day, thank you to everyone who reached out with their concerns and prayers for my son,” to rapper shared on his IG story.
“He is getting the best medical care and miraculously survived a tragic fall. I ask for your continued prayers as he undergoes rehabilitation but I would appreciate that this remain a private matter.”
