According to a video obtained by NBC 6 South Florida, the man can be seen stuffing iPhones into a bag draped over his shoulder.
However, unfortunately for the man, he decided to lift the box from his head, which revealed his entire face.
The owner of the shop, Jeremias Berganza, told NBC that the suspect made off with 19 iPhones and $8,000 in cash.
After reviewing the CCTV footage that showed the man’s face, Berganza started looking for him around the mall, alerting the police, and urging other store owners to keep an eye out for him.
Police eventually found the suspect drinking nearby at a local liquor store.
Miami Gardens PD has reportedly arrested the suspect, identified as Claude Vincent Griffin, 33. He was charged with grand theft, burglary, criminal mischief, cocaine possession and resisting an officer without violence, according to Miami-Dade County Corrections and Rehabilitation online booking records.
