A Palm Coast, Florida mom was arrested after she allegedly helped her son and friends jump another middle schooler.
Ashley Ruffin, 30, is accused of grabbing the young boy by his hair and restraining him while her son and his friend hit him, according to the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office. Witnesses also told cops that at one point during the scuffle, Ruffin flashed a taser.
Police showed up at the scene after the victim’s mother reported seeing the incident to a school resource officer, who then called the cops.
The victim told police he was sitting outside the school’s sports complex when the two kids approached and then attacked him. At one point, other kids came over to join in on the fight, the victim told police. He also told police Ruffin restrained him, allowing the kids to hit him.
Ruffin was hit with battery and child abuse charges. However, she claimed wasn’t trying to hurt the kid, she was simply trying to pull her son away from the altercation.
