At this point, Florida needs to be its own island because just this week, a mother has been arrested by police for having cocaine on her 3-year-old’s Dr. Seuss book.
On Wednesday, The Smoking Gun reported that 24-year-old Casey Quoka was hit with two child abuse counts.
The police report says that officers found a “bump” of suspected cocaine and a snorting straw atop the classic children’s book Cat in the Hat. Quoka’s bedroom nightstand was said to contain the book and marijuana, and a bag of suspected MDMA pills.
Arresting officers claim the boy had keys to his mother’s bedroom, where the drugs were readily accessible to him.
According to reports, the mother is also accused of inflicting “significant bruises” on her son due to physical punishment that “exceeded the accepted level of force.” On Thursday night, she was released on a $4,000 bond.
