On May 11th, Major Crimes detectives from the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office were sent to a local high school in response to a student who told a staff member that they had been raped over the weekend. The incident occurred on May 9th, following a teen’s birthday party, at a home in Port Charlotte.
After a night of partying, 44-year-old Jessica Good and another female returned home around 2 a.m. Good continued to “hang out” with the juveniles after returning home inebriated, reportedly making highly offensive sexual remarks and supplying the 17-year-old victim with alcohol.
A 12-year-old who was sleeping on a bean bag nearby was awakened by the suspect and the 17-year-old victim when she witnessed the two having sexual intercourse. The 17-year-old victim allegedly went to use the restroom before returning back to continue having sexual intercourse with the suspect. Afterwards, Good grabbed her belongings and left the home.
Detectives outside her workplace approached Good on May 11. She was charged with two counts of child abuse and two counts of unlawful sexual activity with a minor. It is illegal in Florida for an adult (18 years or older) to have sex with a minor (18 years or younger), even if the sex is consensual.
Jessica Good is being held on a $150,000 bond at the Charlotte County Jail.
