Floyd Mayweather Jr., the undefeated living boxing legend, will, once again, come out of retirement to extend his legacy as the Best Ever.
But this time, instead of facing off in the ring, the champ may be taking his talents to the Octagon to test his skill in mixed martial arts.
In another historic bout, set to take place on New Year’s Eve, Mayweather Jr. will be facing off against the undefeated sensation, Japanese kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa, at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan, as part of the Rizin Fighting Federation.
Although it’s not yet clear on whether the fight will be under boxing rules, as Mayweather’s fight of the century with MMA’s Conor McGregor, or mixed martial arts rules, according to ESPN’s Ariel Helwani, the details are still being worked out.
But for Mayweather’s sake, let’s hope Nasukawa meets him in the ring.
