A judge has officially intervened on behalf of Floyd Mayweather’s baby mama, as part of her case for custody of their 17-year-old son, Zion.
In new documents obtained by The Blast, Josie Harris filed emergency documents to demand the retired boxer return their son to Los Angeles from Las Vegas, after the teen fled their Valencia home to be with Mayweather.
According to Harris, Zion is in his last year of high school and his recent rebellious acts will put his graduation in jeopardy if he doesn’t return. She also says Mayweather’s lavish boxer lifestyle is not the appropriate environment for a 17-year-old, especially when he “needs to focus on finishing school” to, eventually, prepare for college.
In the docs, Harris mentions Mayweather’s business ventures, in which he owns and operates a strip club in Vegas. She says her baby daddy is “rarely home to personally supervise the children,” he throws “$2 million parties” and frequents strip clubs. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But now, in Mayweather’s response, he says his lifestyle is in his son’s best interest, to be exposed to the famous influencers he encounters on a daily basis as an example of “self-motivation,” serving as a representation of the “American Dream” of “industriousness, courage, resilience, determination and accomplishment.”
As he continued, in the docs, Mayweather says his son has made it clear that if he’s forced to return home to California, he will run away and live on the streets. As a result, Mayweather believes it’s best to keep his son in Vegas until the custody matter is resolved.
But, in regards to Harris’ concerns about her son being around strippers, Mayweather says Zion has been around the likes of Warren Buffet, Professor Charles Oglestree of Harvard Law School and even Kobe Bryant, and on top of that, Mayweather says he doesn’t drink or do drugs.
Now, as the couple waits for a judge to make the final custody decision in the case, Mayweather has offered to cooperate with the Nevada Attorney General to get Zion back to L.A. after a court order was issued. Both parties have agreed to meet in private on Monday.
